Frenchgate Shopping centre
Frenchgate Shopping Centre is a newly refurbished and extended shopping centre in Doncaster. The centre has 809,000 square feet of retail space over 2 levels with an 1800 space multi storey car park and 345 space roof top car park. In addition the centre has a main line link to main line rail services and a very large bus interchange.
Fallow Management provide a wide range of services to the centre to include, daily morning detail cleaning, daily main cleaning, Window Cleaning, specialist cleaning, consumables, waste management & recycling strategies, waste & recycling collections, waste equipment.
FM Ltd started the cleaning & waste operation during extensive building works to double the size of the centre. Due to the scale of building works the main objective was to keep the operational side of the centre clean, whilst reacting to requests for cleaning, rubbish removal, or builders cleans from centre management. The recruitment & training process was continual during this busy period, increasing the operatives as required, and all TUPE staff and new employees were trained and retrained on our standards and health & safety for the centre and the building site.
The centre is very prestigious and houses the largest Debenhams in Europe.
To ensure the cleaning standards our site manager inspects the centre daily ensuring all areas are inspected and the appropriate action taken to any areas not to standard. Our regional manager holds regular site meetings with the client and undertakes in house inspections to ensure service delivery. The site is also inspected monthly jointly by centre management and the regional manager and we are very proud to have achieved a minimum score to date of 95% as marked by the client.
FM is currently improving service levels still further through jointly agreed SLAs and KPI monitoring.
Palace Exchange shopping centre
Palace Exchange shopping centre opened in October 2006 and is situated in Enfield on the outskirts of London. The centre is uncovered and covers 175,000sq feet with 22 units and a 530 space multi storey car park.
Fallow Management were awarded the cleaning & waste management services and began the operations in October 2006. There were many challenges in these early stages due to the centre still being used by building contractors. Due to the centre not being complete FM Ltd had to work without the appropriate facilities including cleaning storage cupboards and power for machinery. We worked closely with the centre management in these early stages helping daily to reactive duties for both cleaning and waste management services. Reactive duties would include:
- Builders cleans
- Continual cleaning of floors and walkways
- Removal of rubbish from the walkways
- Builders skip removal
The main cleaning operation is conducted out of trading hours and is maintained throughout the day by the day mall operatives over a 7 day period. We have specialised cleaning equipment on site to assist in the cleaning of the large open walkways.
FM Ltd has installed a waste strategy and colour coding system for al tenants to follow allowing the centre to recycle cardboard waste. All cardboard is baled and FM pays rebates to the centre on a monthly basis. All remaining waste is compacted and taken to a MRF (Materials Recycling Facility). FM is very proud to be hitting over 50% recovery rates.
On 31st October FM will take over the security operation on site.
